Reading Poem

                  Here is a screencastify of me reading a poem for reading.                                                                     We need to read clearly, with fluency and expression.

In reading I am good at reading with others
I need to work on using expression a bit more.

Teling the time

We have been learning to tell time to the hour and half hour using analogue clocks

Vaseline saucers

First we drew a plan of our saucer making sure it was symmetrical. Next we made a real one using flowers people had brought to school.

I liked putting the petals on my Vaseline Saucer because they were symmetrical

Christmas tree

First we sketched a Christmas tree. We needed to write ideas that came to our heads. Then we made a poem about how we felt about Christmas.

Art.

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Something I did well is doing my circles.

Something I need to work on is background.

Greats and grands day.

Last week we had our Greats and Grands day. We wrote poems for our grandparents. Here is my poem about why my grandparents are so special.

Kauri Tree Art

WE have been learning about Kauri dieback. Here is a piece of art of a Kauri tree and how I  made it. 

First we did our name.

 Next we drew our clouds.

Then we finger painted our tree trunk.

 We ripped the pieces of paper. 

Then we made the grass. 

Then we wrote our slogans on our chrome books.

We have been learning about putting rubbish in the bin and keeping it in the bin so it doesn't fly around and land in the water. I do not want the fish to die. Here is my thinglink I made about rubbish. 

Kauri poem

We have been learning about Kauri die-back. We sketched a Kauri tree and wrote a poem about it. This is my poem.

We have been learning about fractions .I have made a slide  about what I know about fractions. 

Multiplication

We have been learning to work out multiplication problems involving 2 times tables. Here is some work I did. I needed a bit of help.

Garden to table

Each week we do garden to table we are either in the kitchen cooking or else in the garden planting, weeding or watering. learn how to cook.

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.

Basic Facts Term 2

We have been working on answering basic facts questions quickly and instantly.

I am at Stage 4. I have passed Stage 2-3.

The Pou

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.

Mother Day Witing

ANZAC Day Writing

This week we have been leaning about Anzac day. We had to write a poem and a postcard. Here is my poem.

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.I am good at forming my letters correctly .I need to get better at making my letters even.

Self Portrait art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.

Garden to Table

I like cooking with Elise and Piata. This is me chopping up vegetables. 

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.
